Jason Rife spent the past two seasons with the University of Hartford men’s lacrosse team as an assistant coach. Joining head coach Peter Lawrence’s staff in October 2013, Rife brought an abundance of experience that featured more than 15 years of coaching at the collegiate level.

Rife has spread out his coaching career over five different colleges and universities, and has been an integral part in each of those institutions finding postseason success as he has two conference championships and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances under his belt.

Arriving to Hartford by way of Whittier College, also where he began his coaching career in 1998, Rife has spent the last two seasons in California as an assistant coach for the Poets. During his first stint at Whittier, he worked alongside Lawrence for two seasons, both serving as assistants.

Before making his return to Whittier and the west coast, Rife spent four seasons as the head coach at Wagner College in Staten Island. Before earning that position, he was a member of the coaching staff at Bryant from 2003-07, helping the then-Division II power to the program's first-ever Northeast 10 Conference regular season championship. Also highlighting Rife's campaign at Bryant was a combined 45-20 record and the development of five Division II All-Americans.

Rife first broke into the Division I coaching scene in 2002 when he was tabbed an assistant coach at UMass, his alma mater. In two seasons with the Minutemen, he helped the team to an appearance in the NCAA Division I quarterfinals in 2003. He is no stranger to the NCAA Tournament as in 2002 he assisted in piloting Washington & Lee to the Division III Final Four, a run that also featured the capturing of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference crown.

Rife graduated from UMass in 1996, earning his undergraduate degree in sports management.

Great job!

Just a quick note to let you know our team really enjoyed the camp. What a great camp, and what a great group of coaches you put together. Not only will the boys be better lax players as a result of their experiences, but will no doubt be better young men as well. Great job!

Great experience!

My son had a GREAT experience at your camp. He wants to go back again next year. He was very impressed (as we were too) with the level of expertise. Look forward to next summer.

Your camp was fantastic! The skill level of the coaches and personal attention was very helpful. The days were full and intense. Please let us know when you have your spring camp and also the summer camp for next year!

Alex thought the camp was "awesome". He clearly enjoyed himself and learned many new things. He was very impressed! Alex has gone from an unsure beginner to accomplished enthusiast and is already recruiting friends to play and, no doubt, attend next year's camp.

We will be back next year!

My son has played Lacrosse for 3 years, he is now 13. He plays travel Lacroose in the summer and plays the regular season. He is exposed to many coaches and said the knowledge of the coaches at the Nike camp was obvious. He could not believe what all he learned during this week of camp. The motivation from this camp showed during his summer travel season, thank you Nike and we will be back next year.

Highly recommend this camp!

This camp was exceptional.  the attention to detail was unbeatable, age groups and individuals training groups were split evenly and fairly and the drills were explained well.  My son has been to many lacrosse camps and none of them compare to this one. I am very impressed with the coaching staff and training at this camp.  I highly recommend this camp.

I learned a lot!

I learned a lot at this camp and was always busy. This is a camp you go to to get better and to refine your skills. The only downside was that the dorms were a little farther away from the fields then I would have liked. I am a better player becasue of the instruction I received here.
